The French daily newspaper L'Humanite (Humanity) has recently published an article on the effects of cheap Chinese products on the international markets, titled "Tens of Thousands of Employees Threatened.”
EMarrakech reports that according to the French newspaper, the principal victims of Chinese production are not only the Europeans and the Americans, but also the countries of the Mediterranean region, and in particular Morocco, where the textile industry is a vital sector for the economy.
The newspaper asserts that Moroccan exports of textile fell by 22% in January and February, compared to the same period last year, and that the massive arrival of cheap Chinese products to Morocco seriously threatens the national industry, which employs more than 200,000 people.
