The Moroccan royal palace said on Thursday that King Mohammed VI’s private doctor placed the King in convalescence for five days for a digestive infection. “His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, suffers from an infection with digestive signs and an acute dehydration which has compelled him to (rest) for five days,” Abdelaziz Maaouni, the King’s private doctor, wrote in a signed statement.
The King, who celebrated his 46th birthday earlier this week, has had a busy summer schedule taking him throughout the Kingdom where he has launched several projects.
According to state news agency MAP, Maaouni said the infection poses “no concerns for his health.”
