The Associated Press reported Thursday that the third trial of former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi has been set for Jan. 28 in Cairo.
The former Islamist leader is charged with "organizing prison breaks with the help of foreign militants."
The alleged jailbreaks occurred during January 2011 at the same time the massive protests emerged that ousted Egypt's former dictator Hosni Mubarak.
Morsi, along with 30 others, escaped from a jail in Cairo during the first wave of Egypt's revolution, and more than 20,000 inmates nationwide also escaped during the same timeframe.
The former Islamist president is facing three separate trials for charges including conspiring with foreign groups, inciting violence, and killing protestors.
