High tempers during the afternoon hours are the cause of many divorces in Kuwait, a Kuwaiti judge told Medina newspaper. Judge Jassem Mutoug said most divorce cases he has handled occurred between the hours of 2:30 and 3:30 in the afternoon when men come home from work hungry and tired and find that no food has been cooked and a myriad of complaints and requests await them. “At that point,”Mutoug said, “the man looses his temper and insults his wife who returns the insult, and this leads to a chain of events that ends up in divorce.
Under Islamic law, a woman is divorce if her husband repeats the phrase; “I divorce you,” three times.
"We advise both to be patient and to absorb the other person’s anger so that petty issues do not lead to a divorce," Mutoug told the Saudi Medina newspaper. Mutoug said 65 percent of all divorces occur because of petty arguments that quickly get out of hand.
