The Facebook page of defeated reformist candidate in Iran quoted him Saturday as saying he is ready to die and calling his followers to go on strike if he is arrested by the regime.
Mir Hossein Moussavi said he is ready for "martyrdom" and is quoted as telling followers to "protest" and "not go to work."
Citing irregularities, has also called on the country's electoral watchdog to cancel the results of last week's elections. "All these counts of irregularities plus many others that were mentioned in previous letters ... are reasons to cancel the election," he said.
Citing seven accounts of abnormalities in the June 12 elections, Mousavi highlighted the "sealing of ballot boxes before the voting in most polling stations, shortage of ballot papers and limited voting time" were among the reasons he objected the results of the elections.
Mousavi has repeatedly demanded a re-run of the poll, describing the election as a "shameful fraud."
The powerful Guardian Council earlier on Saturday announced it is ready to recount 10 percent of the ballot boxes.
