Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak told Israel that collective punishment of Palestinians, terrorization of civilians, and killing of children are aggressive and provocative measures that cannot be accepted by Arab countries.
He said such measures will have grave consequences and warned that these provocations should not be repeated.
Mubarak, who opened the Arab summit in Cairo Saturday, said in an inaugural speech, monitored in Amman, that Israeli practices have led the peace process to an impasse and a dilemma adding that “Islamic nations were enraged by the aggression against their holy shrines” in Jerusalem. He said there is no power on earth that usurps the rights of others and speaks of peace.
