Municipal System Leads The Way At Cityscape 2010

Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces toured DMA’s stand as part of his visit to Cityscape Abu Dhabi.  His Highness was welcomed by  Rashid Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of Department of Municipal Affairs, and executive directors from the three municipalities. 

He viewed the 30 projects showcased by the department, Abu Dhabi city Municipality, Al Ain Municipality, and the Western Region Municipality and was briefed on current and future projects enhancing a sustainable quality of life in different areas of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and also watched the 4D show at DMA’s theatre on the stand.   

Commenting on His Highness’ visit to the stand, Rashid Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of Department of Municipal Affairs, said “Abu Dhabi is going trough a phase of tremendous development, and this is due to the vision of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and the guidance and support of HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in developing Municipal projects all over the Emirate, which will make the Abu Dhabi government one of the leading ambitious governments in the world. ”

The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) and the three municipalities of Abu Dhabi conveyed their commitment to a new dimension of quality municipal services at cityscape Abu Dhabi, which ended successfully on April 21 with a %5 increase in exhibitors, and a huge number of visitors and investors.

Commenting on the successful conclusion of Cityscape Abu Dhabi, Rashid Al Hajeri, Chairman of Department of Municipal Affairs said: “At a time of global economic uncertainty, Cityscape continues to be a world showcase and the DMA is proud to have lead the way in showcasing what the future holds for Abu Dhabi.”

“Following the vision and objective of our great Leaders, Abu Dhabi’s Municipal system is determined to achieve an environmentally sustainable living through providing distinctive municipal services for generations to come.  We are proud to say that our participation at cityscape Abu Dhabi lays the foundation for a responsible future that will support the emirate’s dynamic growth by setting global trends and world leading standards,” he added.

“Cityscape Abu Dhabi has really become one of the most effective and recognized platforms to showcase benchmark projects such as the municipal system projects.   Our International Building Codes project will be among the most stringent and effective in achieving Abu Dhabi’s vision and objectives in becoming a sustainable world-leader living environment,” said Ahmed Shareef, Undersecretary of the Department of Municipal Affairs.  

“We are working hard towards the Abu Dhabi 2030 vision.  Through our participation at Cityscape Abu Dhabi, we are ambitiously confident that we will be an important part of Abu Dhabi’s plan to deliver a modern, high quality infrastructure, improved services and greater environment of living all over Abu Dhabi,” concluded Al Hajeri.

DMA’s 540 sqm stand witnessed great success with visitors from all over the globe showing unlimited interest in the services and projects exhibited by the Municipal system.  These projects, which were displayed through a world-class 4D theatre, aim at enabling a sustainable and enhanced quality of living for the residents of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. 

DMA and the three municipalities’ ‘Membrane’ stand design and 4D cinema excited and informed over 2800 visitors, who experienced flying over Abu Dhabi foreseeing the Emirate’s future from the sky.
