nas air doubles flights to gurayyat
nas air, the first budget carrier in the Kingdom, announced today that it will raise its reach to the northern border city of Gurayyat from capital city of Riyadh to a daily flight. The extra flights to Gurayyat route, inaugurated last April, will meet the high demand on passenger traffic via the northern borders to Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Turkey at the beginning of the summer holiday season.
“The increase in flights to Gurayyat during the summer season and the additional promotional offers on flights come as an integral part of the first phase of nas air’s operational plan, to meet the soaring increase in the number of travelers to Gurayyat, one of the most important border points in the Kingdom that witness a massive movement of passengers during vacation periods,” said Usama Al Senan, nas air’s Director of Marketing and Sales. ”Gurayyat flights have been scheduled between the morning and afternoon to serve the largest number of passengers between the two cities,” he added.
Al Senan also pointed out that following the launch of nas air flights traffic figures between the two cities are expected to witness a 50% increase this year compared to the usual 5% increase that was recorded in the past few years . It is worth noting that passenger traffic between Riyadh and Gurayat reached more than 85,000 passengers during 2006.
