Sheikh Hasan Nasrallah, head of the Lebanese Hizbullah group, stated on Sunday that anyone who wants to rid Lebanon of Hizbullah will pay the price.
"Whoever wants to work to get rid of Hizbullah will repent it and will be mistaken," Nasrallah said during graduation ceremony for new Hizbullah members, according to the AP.
Nasrallah added that no one should conspire with the US against the group.
"Whoever dreams about getting rid of Hizbullah in any position is mistaken."
"Whoever colludes in such an American conspiracy is a Zionist, an Israeli and a Sharonist," Nasrallah added.
The Hizbullah leader criticized US ambassador to Lebanon Jeffrey Feltman as well as US Secretary of State David Welch of interfering in Lebanese affairs.
Earlier, Welch had stated that Hizbullah is a terrorist organization and should not be included in Lebanon’s government, which currently considers it a resistance movement.
Many in Lebanon however are calling for disarming Hizbullah since Israel is no longer occupying Lebanese territory.
The UN Security Council issued Resolution 1559 in 2004, calling for Hizbullah’s disarmament as well.
The group maintains that it needs its weapons to protect Lebanon from Israel.
