Leading and socially conscious Jordanian company, National Paints recently contributed to the countrywide campaign to vote for Petra as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
The “Vote for Petra” campaign has been carried out in compliance with the Ministry of Culture, who in turn led a festival to raise awareness and garner support for Petra’s place among the new Seven Wonders of the World. This festival, took place on 30 March, in the Wadi Musa area, the region in which Petra is located.
Mr. Michael Al Sayegh, Chairman of National Paints, stated, “We are constantly seeking new ways to promote Jordan’s treasures. We are exceptionally supportive of this campaign, bringing Petra to a much wider global audience.”
National Paints is one of the largest paint consortiums in the Middle East, allocating a substantial amount of its annual budget to sponsoring social and developmental activities. In addition to the groups’ own socially beneficial activities, National Paints have allied with and supported various organization and NGOs.
Mr. Michael Al Sayegh added, “We as a corporation are proud of both Jordan’s progress and its history and culture. National Paints has always been an advocate of local and national initiatives that give back to the community.”
It’s worth mentioning that, National Paints has initiated and encouraged a number of various programs to create forward social movement since its establishment in 1969, and that it had worked to strengthen that spirit in recent years.
The Official Declaration of the New 7 Wonders will take place in Lisbon, Portugal on July 7 of this year.
