National Security Summit tackles increasing threats to the region
Security experts exchange best practice to improve national resilience in case of national emergencies
International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC), the global provider of tailored, knowledge-driven conferences, is addressing the topic of national security in the Middle East at a two-day National Security Summit in October.
Attending and speaking at the summit, Abdul Haq Amiri, Head of UN OCHA Regional Office for the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia says “This is a timely event given the increasing threats in the region from natural disasters to conflicts, not to mention, climate change, oil spills and other environmental and technological threats.
“An event such as this - which brings together many experienced professionals who are all concerned with the safety and security of civilians - will certainly strengthen the capacity of regional institutions to respond more effectively during emergencies, be they natural or man-made. It will enable participants to exchange experiences on best practices for reducing risks and also propose measures to mitigate threats.”

Highlighted speakers include Dr. Piers Miller, Office for Disarmament Affairs, United Nations, Colonel Azhar Al-Kindi, Director Executive for Civil Defence, Oman Police Headquarter and Mohammed Rashid Muhairi, Director, Tourist Security Department, Dubai Police, amongst others.
Besides the two-day summit taking place from 27 to 28 October at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai, the event will include an interactive focus day on Revolutionizing National Security Systems on October 26.
