The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Number One Bank in the UAE, will sponsor the Second Latin America Mid-East Investors Forum (LA-MEIF) to be held on April 26 and 27 in Abu Dhabi.
The Forum will bring together Latin American and Middle Eastern business leaders to discuss emerging opportunities for the two regions. The purpose of this event is to increase bilateral investments and trade between GCC and Latin America.
“NBAD is willing to sponsor events that inform and expand the knowledge of the UAE business community as well as creating and facilitating this country’s international trade and investment,” said Michael Tomalin, the Group Chief Executive at NBAD. “Furthermore, NBAD is keen to bring more international conferences and forums to Abu Dhabi to help make this city a hub of international finance.”
Mark Yassin, the Senior General Manager of NBAD’s Corporate and Investment Banking Division, will deliver the welcoming address on the opening day.
“Abu Dhabi is increasingly emerging on the global scene; global investors are eyeing this region for investments and to raise funds. Conversely, Abu Dhabi’s investors are very sophisticated and are increasingly looking for global opportunities. Forums such as the Latin America Mid-East Investors Forum serve to expand the global knowledge of investors and serve as a platform for networking,” Yassin said.
The Forum will also present several panel Discussions. Mariano Bengoecha, International Advisor at NBAD, will participate in the opening panel titled “Creating a Pipeline of Opportunities Between the Mid-East and Latin America”. This panel will explore how improvements in economic management, access to financing and rapid economic growth have resulted in affluence and stabilised investment environment in both regions. They will discuss opportunities for partnership between the two regions.
The event will take place in Abu Dhabi’s Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel.
