ALBAWABA - A group of young people calling themselves "Generation Z" have taken to the streets in Peru to protest against the government, AFP reported.
Hundreds of anti-government protesters clashed with the police in the capital Lima on Saturday.
Demonstrators attacked the police officers using stones and sticks, while policemen fired tear gas to disperse the protesters.
Around 500 people joined the protests against organized crime and corruption in public office, in the city center in Lima, under heavy police presence.
According to the radio station Exitosa, its reporter and a cameraman were injured by pellets, reportedly fired by law enforcement. On the other hand, at least three policemen were wounded in the Gen Z protests.
It is worth noting that Nepal witnessed Generation Z (Gen Z) protests against corruption and the closure of social media platforms about two weeks ago.
Nepalese protesters set the parliament building on fire and were able to overthrow the government and appoint a new prime minister via the "Discord" platform.
