Five people suffered stab wounds when a Nepalese worker attacked them with a knife, following a scuffle over visas in Doha, reported the Gulf Times newspaper.
Three of the injured are Nepalese, while the two others are Indians.
The police were able to arrest the culprit within an hour after he fled the scene and tried to mingle with the crowd in a busy market area.
Quoting Brig Saree Al Kaby, assistant director general of public security, the paper said the attack was spurred by an argument between the attacker and a fellow Nepali over a visit visa.
As the argument heated up, the accused, who had arrived in Doha just a day before the incident, grabbed a knife and stabbed his compatriot.
Two Indians and two Nepalese who intervened were also assaulted, it said – Albawaba.com
