ALBAWABA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the appointment of Roman Gofman, the Military Secretary to the Prime Minister, as the new head of the Mossad.
“After interviewing various candidates, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to appoint his military secretary, Major General Roman Goffman, to the position of head of the Mossad for Intelligence and Special Operations of the State of Israel,” the Prime Minister’s Office announced in a statement Thursday.
According to Hebrew media, Gofman will start his new position as the chief of the Mossad in June of next year.
The Military Secretary to the Prime Minister will replace Israeli David Barnea, who has been the Director of Mossad since June 2021, The Jerusalem Post reported Thursday.
