ALBAWABA - After a French TV broadcaster interviewed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, hundreds of protesters gathered outside its offices.
In an interview with French channel TF1, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu likened the bombing of Gaza people and the deaths of dozens to a French army military error on a Mali wedding.
Netanyahu said, "These are not indiscriminate attacks; we are doing everything we can." when asked whether tailored commando operations might substitute large-scale activities that kill many civilians.
He said "In Mali, French forces, in their effort to target terrorist leaders, bombed a wedding, causing significant civilian casualties."
Netanyahu said, "War occurs, but Macron is not a war criminal. Not that the French army did it purposefully, and neither do we."
He revealed that the Israeli army had mistakenly murdered its own men in Gaza. Netanyahu said charges that Israel targets and starves people "anti-Semitic slanders."
He said, "I don't know if we need to occupy Gaza, but we must be able to enter it at any time," adding that giving the Palestinians statehood today would be the greatest prize for "terrorists."
Global outrage
The remote interview follows widespread criticism of a Rafah refugee camp attack on Sunday. The Israeli army's May 7 bombardment and ground attack in the heavily populated refugee population seek to remove the remaining Hamas units.
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside TF1's offices in Paris' outskirts on Thursday evening to oppose Netanyahu's LCI interview.
After being blocked from entering the building by police, demonstrators chanted "Gaza, Gaza, Paris is with you," "Ceasefire now," and "Israel is a killer." They also denounced the Rafah atrocity and accused the West of supporting Israel.
