A pullout of British soldiers from Iraq is supported by 61 percent of Britons, with 29 percent saying the troops should be pulled out "as soon as possible," according to an ICM opinion poll published Monday in The Daily Mirror.

Another thirty two percent of respondents called for a phased withdrawal, saying UK soldiers should leave Iraq, "gradually but with a final date set," while a similar number saying they should "stay as long as necessary."

The poll was carried out after Prime Minister Tony Blair gave evidence on Thursday to the Hutton inquiry. (Albawaba.com)
