Aichatou Mindaoudor, Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, has denied any cooperation between Nigeria and Israel on the issue of the sale of uranium.

Nigeria is the third largest uranium producing country in Africa, however it respects and implements commitments not to sell dangerous material to other states for negative use, Mindaoudor restated, according to Gulf News

However, the low price of uranium had, in fact, an adverse affect on the Nigerian economy. Mindaoudor stressed that other natural resources in Nigeria are iron and phosphate, which, however, are not priority items in the world economy.

During a press conference at the Zayed Center for Coordination and Follow-Up (ZCCF), on a recent visit to the UAE, Mindaoudor expressed full support for the Palestinian struggle to set up their independent state and flayed Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's home arrest.

Discussing the Nigerian-Arab relations in various fields, the Nigerian Minister praised the supportive resolution adopted by the OIC (Organization of Islamic Conference) regarding the exploitation of resources in Nigeria.

Furthermore, hailing the will of UAE officials in enhancing the relations between Nigeria and the UAE, the minister also praised the UAE’s leading role in supporting and encouraging investments in Nigeria. The minister also hoped to multiply UAE's investments in Nigeria. (Albawaba.com)
