Nine people were killed Sunday and 15 others injured in an explosion at a mine in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian emergencies ministry announced.
The incident was caused by a methane explosion in the shaft in the town of Krasnoarmeysk, where 59 miners were working, the Interfax news agency reported, citing local authorities -- KIEV (AFP)
