Nissan Middle East dispatched its communication agency TBWARAAD’s key staff member Shiv Taneja in Gulf for Good’s latest ‘In the Footsteps of Lawrence’ charity challenge last week. Money raised from the challenge will go to Noor Al Hussein Foundation’s schools in Jordan and a clinic in Qalqillia, Palestine.
As Gulf4Good’s 13th challenge, Shiv Taneja and 9 -other Gulf residents took part in the challenge which took them in the Footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia through Jordan in a 7 day trekking adventure through varied terrain and ancient Nabatean caravan routes.
The challenge began in Amman and ended in Wadi Rum. They took in a number of key sights while trekking through the fertile and abundant gorge of Wadi Ibn Hammad, the Dead Sea, and visited the Kerak castle. Wadi Dana to Wadi Finan, the Araba valley and Wadi Rum, a visit to two of the schools Gulf for Good is supporting, as well as a hike up Nemelah mountain (1000m),
On returning from the Challenge, Shiv Taneja said: ”The total experience was amazing. Gulf for Good charity challenges are a great way to experience a country and its people as well as to raise money for worthy causes. I thank Nissan Middle East for supporting me in the challenge as a way to encourage more Gulf residents to get behind charities such as Gulf for Good”.
Monal Zeidan, Nissan Middle East’s corporate communications manager said: “Nissan Middle East, as a leading car brand in the region, jumped at the chance to support Gulf For Good as such a worthwhile event, supporting charity projects through encouraging active participation from Gulf residents to help other Middle East residents in need”.
On average, one third of all money raised pays for the challenge expenses, with the balance going to the chosen charities and projects. All challenges and expenditure are supervised and monitored by the G4G's volunteer Board of Governors and auditors. This is not the first time Nissan sponsors Gulf For Good as it was of big support during the Tsunami victims relief campaign.
