ALBAWABA - Iranian state television reported Monday that a helicopter crash involving Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, and Iran's Foreign Minister left no survivors.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is reportedly "not alive" along with all other passengers according to initial reports from Iran following a helicopter crash near East Azerbaijan Province, as he was returning from a state visit to neighboring Azerbaijan.
The helicopter was carrying a number of high-profile Iranian officials including Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and the Friday prayers leader of Tabriz, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Al-e-Hashem.
When the crash occurred, emergency and rescue efforts were hampered by bad weather conditions that struck the area, making it nearly impossible to reach the crash site. Iranian state media said that the disaster happened on the helicopter's return trip and was caused by a rough landing.
