Reflecting the timeless beauty and craftsmanship in their latest devices, Nokia, the world leader in mobility chose the exclusive Burj Al Arab Dubai to unveil the Nokia 8800 Arte and the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte - two brand new devices which form part of the portfolio for fashionable and stylish consumers. The launch, which welcomed regional media and art professionals, showcased the two Arte devices – which literally translate as art.
The new devices, which have been developed for the discerning consumer, are a mix of the finest materials including exquisite leather and precious stones. The Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte contains both, with the select key made from a single sapphire which, as one of the world’s most valued gemstones, has a strong heritage and coveted appeal.
The panels which are integrated into the design are crafted from premium leather sourced in Eastern India and in avoiding mechanical embossing; Nokia ensures that each product is totally unique and that the hide’s natural grain is preserved. In addition, the colours used in the development of the products include luxurious brown and coffee tones for an understated elegance. The colours are considered a confident and sophisticated colour choice for premium products across a growing range of lifestyle items, from classic car interiors to high-end electronics. The Nokia 8800 Arte meanwhile makes its own unique statement in stylish black.
Yolande Pineda, Nokia’s Communications Director, Middle East and Africa, said; “The Burj Al Arab provides the ideal backdrop for launching these works of art as both the Burj Al Arab and the 8800 Arte devices incorporate an iconic functional design, with a timeless beauty and stylish appeal, which fit perfectly with the preferences of young and stylish consumers in the Middle East.”
“At Nokia we are committed to offering our users devices which accurately fit with their lifestyles. The 8800 Arte devices, which have been designed for stylish consumers, celebrate the art of individuality by way of natural light and the intricate ways in which they reflect, flicker and glow. This can be seen in the unique tap-for-time feature, where two gentle taps will illuminate the clock screen, while living wallpapers move organically throughout the day to give unique on-screen decoration,” Pineda added.
Sound also plays an important part of the bespoke experience. The Nokia 8800 Arte and the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte both include an exclusive soundtrack of graphic grooves from master producers Kruder & Dorfmeister with visuals by Fritz Fitzke, for an even more stylish experience.
In addition to the 3G capabilities and 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera, the Nokia 8800 Arte and Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte boast a stunning OLED display and 1 GB built-in memory space. A unique silencing mechanism is activated when the phone is turned over, screen-side down. Meanwhile, Nokia’s new anti-fingerprint coating reduces smudges on metal and glass and unsightly outer seams are hidden thanks to a unique all-in-one microUSB connector.
To complete the look, Nokia has designed an exclusive range of accessories. These include a touch-sensitive volume control earpiece, a stylish desk stand and a beautiful leather carrying case complete with linen interior.
The Nokia 8800 Arte will be available in the 4th quarter of 2007 and the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte will be available in the first quarter of 2008.
