A Central Security Forces conscript was killed by a bomb blast to the south of Sheikh Zuwaid city, North Sinai, on Tuesday.

The victim was killed while on patrol in the Karm al-Qawadis area.

Security sources said that the victim, named Meghawry Mohamed Meghawry, 21, from Sharqiya, was transferred to Arish military hospital.

In October 2014, Karam al-Qawadis was hit with another militant attack when a car of explosives driven into the Karam al-Qawadis checkpoint was blown up, killing 33 members of the armed forces and injuring 26.

Egyptian security forces have cracked down on militant activity in Noth Sinai in the past month, with widespread sweeps and arrests. In an operation dubbed "Martyr's Right Three," Egyptian security forces killed 85 Daesh militants in a series of coordinated raids.
