The Northern Alliance is ready to hold a gathering of traditional Afghan leaders outside the capital Kabul to set up a provisional administration, a senior official told AFP Saturday.
"If the UN asks us to hold a preliminary meeting or hold the council (of national unity) outside Kabul, for the good of the country and for peace in Afghanistan we are ready to take part wherever it is," General Mohammad Quassim Fahim, the anti-Taliban alliance's defense minister -- said AFP
