Norwegian Foreign Minister Thor Bjorn Jagland will arrive in Amman on Friday on a two-day official visit, reported the official news agency (PETRA).

During his visit to Amman, Jagland will hold talks with senior Jordanian officials on ways of strengthening bilateral ties in various fields, said Petra, adding that talks will also tackle the peace process and ways to revive negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Jagland is a member of the US-led inquiry commission investigation violence in Palestinian territories.

The committee, headed by former US senator George Mitchell will resume its work Saturday.

On January 21, Israel announced that it boycotted its contacts with the commission because it visited al-Haram al-Sharif without prior clearance from Israeli authorities.

The other panel members include former US senator, Warren Rudman, Turkish former president, Suleyman Demirel, and EU foreign chief, Javier Solan – Albawaba.com
