Nuria Llagostera Vives of Spain won her first World Tennis Association (WTA) tour event on Sunday (8 May) by beating Jie Cheng of China in straight sets at the Princess Lalla Meryem Tournament in Rabat, Morocco.
The 25-year-old, who joined the WTA tour in 1996, is ranked 57th in the world and has won about $50,000 in the tournaments she has participated in this year.
