Oasis Centre, widely regarded as Dubai’s friendliest mall, today announced the winner of its Super Mom 2010 contest that tested participants on personality, wit, resourcefulness, talent and beauty over three days.
Elena Gorovay, a mother of four children, was crowned Super Mom 2010 by an eminent panel of judges, while Sheetal M and Sharmili Kapoor walked away with the first and second runner-up titles respectively.
Neelesh Bhatnagar, Director, Oasis Centre, said: “We have lined up exciting events to keep offering shoppers a dynamic entertainment schedule. Our atrium lends itself to events that they can enjoy just as they step into the mall.
“Today’s Supermom Contest salutes mothers from all walks of life, from home-makers to professionals and those working as volunteers with NGOs serving the community. It has been a great display of the diversity that Dubai enjoys as a cosmopolitan city.”
The contest, that was open to all UAE residents, attracted over 100 entries from mothers who shop regularly at the mall. Around 30 finalists were shortlisted for the final round that required them to participate in a variety of exciting tasks and contests over a two day period. On the final day, five finalists emerged to vie for top honours.
The engaging format of the finals included live performances in the talent round. The participants were also tested on their skills in dealing with household challenges. This was followed by a question and answer session with the jury panel that included event management consultant Pragna Vaya, renowned Producer, Writer and Director Sania Kriplani, and Clinical Hypnotherapist Ashwin Nivsarkar.
A mid-sized shopping mall, Oasis Centre houses a range of brands across categories, enticing customers with its key strengths such as convenience of shopping and excellent value-for-money. Located centrally on Sheikh Zayed Road, the mall opened its doors to shoppers after a revamp in March 2009.
