Iran's vice president said Saturday his country needs 20 industrial-scale uranium enrichment facilities. Ali Akbar Salehi, who also heads the nuclear program, told IRNA news agency that Iran needs the sites to generate 20,000 megawatts of electricity through nuclear power plants over the next 20 years.

"To provide fuel for our nuclear power plants, we need to have 20 uranium enrichment plants," IRNA quoted him as saying.

Iran said on Friday it will provide the U.N. nuclear watchdog with minimum of information about its plan to build new sites.
