Offshore container specialist announces major milestones

The Ferguson Group has announced the appointment of Bill England as technical director of its Ferguson Seacabs divisions worldwide.

Mr. England has been with the Ferguson Group since 1982, with the majority of his career spent as general manager of Ferguson Seacabs UK in addition to heading up container operational activities internationally.

Ferguson Seacabs chief executive officer Eirik Ellingsen said: “Bill has been instrumental in expanding both the company and our container fleet in recent years.  In his new role, Bill will assume control of all technical and procurement matters relating to the container fleets of our bases in the UK, Norway and Australia, in addition to ensuring the integrity of maintenance standards for our existing fleet.  This is a significant appointment for Ferguson Seacabs which will allow the company to both build upon our current fleet and also maintain our high quality standards as our units operate in an ever increasing number of locations around the world.”

It is the latest in a series of senior appointments made by the Ferguson Group following the company’s re-structure and expansion over the last 18 months.

In a further milestone Ferguson Seacabs has recently taken delivery of its 10,000th container to serve the international energy industry.

The 10,000th unit, one of a new range of specially-designed waste recycling containers for use on offshore platforms, arrived as the Ferguson Group announced investment of £25million in the Seacabs division over the next three years to expand its fleet operating worldwide.

Ferguson Seacabs operates from an HQ at Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, as well as bases in key locations around the world, including Scandinavia and Australia. The division has been serving the offshore container rental market for over 30 years and is now a major provider in the supply of specialist cargo transportation equipment, including containers, tanks and baskets.
