Oil drilling in the eastern and southern areas of Bahrain will begin next year, reported the official Gulf News Agency (GNA) on Saturday.
The agency added that the Gulf state had set June 30 as a deadline for international oil companies to submit their bids for drilling for oil in these areas, including the Hawar Islands.
Officials at the oil ministry have held in a series of meetings and discussions with the directors and representatives of several oil companies to discuss using modern technology in drilling and development of oil fields in the Gulf state, said GNA – Albawaba.com
