Oman’s Qaboos, Musharraf Discuss Middle East, Kashmir

Sultan Qaboos of Oman and Pakistani Ruler Prevez Musharraf discussed Sunday in Islamabad the situations in the Middle East and Kashmir, reported the official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA). 

Sultan Qaboos arrived in Islamabad on Saturday for a three-day official visit. 

The two leaders condemned Israel’s aggression on the Palestinians in their Intifada and supported calls for a UN protection to the Palestinians, said the agency, citing an official as saying. 

Sultan Qaboos stressed also the need for a peaceful solution to the Kashmiri issue, and urged Pakistan and India to work for a solution to the problem. 

The situation prevailing in Afghanistan also came during their meeting, said the official. 

The two leaders also discussed bilateral ties, said the official, adding that both sides will sign several agreements to bolster cooperation in various fields. 

Pakistan's bilateral trade with Oman reached 38 million dollars last year, said KUNA – Albawaba.com
