Oman on Tuesday signed four agreements for the construction of health centers in various parts of the sultanate.

The agreements are part of the health ministry's efforts to expand its services around the sultanate, said the Oman Observer, including Samad al Shan in the Mudhaibi, Thumrait, Al Bidaya and Al Athaiba in Bausher.

The governement has allocated a sum of RO35 million to developing health services in the sultanate over the next five years.

In a statement to reporters following the signing ceremony, Oman’s health minister said implementation of the projects came within the framework of the comprehensive health development policy adopted by the ministry.

He said the health centers would offer all aspects of primary health care, including outpatient clinics for men and women, dental clinics, maternity and child care units, immunization units and other facilities.

The minister added that other agreements would shortly follow to establish Hima Hospital and Ibra Specialist Hospital, which would provide services to all parts of the Northern Sharqiyah region – Albawaba.com
