Oman flew 20 tons of medical aid to the Palestinians on Wednesday in solidarity with their conflict against Israel that has cost more than 160 lives and left around 4,000 wounded, a health ministry official said.
Mortadha bin Suleiman, a senior official of the health ministry, told AFP the medical supplies were sent on an Oman Air plane bound for El-Arish in Egypt, near the Gaza Strip.
Pro-Palestinian demonstrations have been held in the sultanate, while public sector workers and members of Oman's consultative council have decided to donate a day's salary to the Palestinians in line with a call from last month's Arab summit.
