Oman road accident leaves six dead

In a road accident in the wilayat of Mudhaibi in the Sharqiya region in Oman, six people, including four young Omanis were killed, while another two expatriates were injured seriously who are fighting for life in a nearby hospital. 

 

An official at the Mudhaibi Police Station told Gulf News daily Monday that Salem bin Mohammed bin Hamad Al Muslamam, a 25-year-old Omani driving a pick-up belonging to the Shanfary Group of Companies died on the spot along with Govindan Attar and Hussain Ali Jan, both Indians, while two of his colleagues, Tubat Tufail, a Pakistani and Indian Ballana Qassem Ballana were critically injured. Both were admitted to a nearby hospital. 

 

He added that the accident occurred late Sunday evening on the highway at Samad al Shan following a head-on collision with another vehicle, carrying three Omanis who also died almost instantly. 

 

Hamdan bin Suleiman bin Amer, 20, Mohammed bin Hamed Al Qartoosh, 23, and Sultan bin Zuail bin Nasser belonged to the same Al Qanoobi tribe. (Albawaba.com)
