Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi arrived in Ankara Sunday on an official visit for talks with senior officials on the Middle East crisis and other issues of mutual concern, reported the official Omani news agency (ONA).

Alawi’s three-day visit was in answer to Turkish Foreign Minister Ismail Cem's visit to Muscat last November.

Both sides, said ONA, would discuss means of cementing political, economic, trade, cultural and technical cooperation.

Alawi is due to meet President Ahmet Sezer, Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit, parliamentarians and former president Suleyman Dimeral, it said.
