Unknown assailants opened fire on activists from the Sunni Muslim extremist party Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP)
here Sunday, killing one person and injuring 12 others, police said.
The activists were returning homes after a party meeting when they were attacked in one of the city's southern suburbs, police said.
The party blamed the attack on religious opponents, but police said it appeared to be an act of terrorism aimed at disturbing peace in the southern port city.
The attackers fled and police have so far made no arrests – KARACHI (AFP)
