Ongoing negotiations in Brussels will help the EU “swiftly” reach a partnership with Lebanon, said an EU official on Sunday, quoted by the Daily Star newspaper.

“The latest session of negotiations in Brussels started this week, and we will continue within the next few weeks to reach an agreement as soon as possible,” said the EU's representative in Lebanon, Dimitri Kourkoulas.

Kourkoulas’s remarks came after a meeting with Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri.

Kourkoulas, who described the meeting as “important,” said the EU was satisfied with the negotiations. He added that he hoped all issues would be solved “soon” to reach an agreement – Albawaba.com
