Bringing their evolutionary vision to the Middle East, Oracle hosted about 200 customers and partners today at the Oracle Fusion Middleware Roadshow, which took place at the J.W.Marriott in Dubai. The event provided an excellent forum for customers from across the region to discuss the Oracle® Fusion Middleware portfolio, as well as Oracle’s philosophy on SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and application development.
Making the business case for customers was Oracle’s Vice President, EMEA Technology, Andrew Sutherland. During his presentation, which included an insight into the functionality which will be available in Oracle Fusion Middleware, Sutherland touched on a number of issues pertinent to customers in the region. “Communicating to customers how we can help them integrate and extend applications in a cost effective and low risk way is important to customers all over the world, especially in a fast-developing region such as the Middle East,” commented Sutherland. “As a fast growing market in EMEA it was critical to ensure that we provided a forum for our key customers to discuss how the evolution of Oracle Fusion Middleware will work with, and for, their individual infrastructures.”
One of the ways companies can make applications more adaptive is by leveraging what are increasingly more mature business process management tools, particularly those based on the industry standard called BPEL [business process execution language]. Adding business intelligence and adaptive business process capabilities found in the middleware layer to the applications themselves makes business process management much easier.
“Developing a strategy for business success requires constant input from our customers, to ensure the functionality on the middleware develops alongside the applications,” commented Vittorio Viarengo, Vice President Development, Oracle. “We formed a customer user group which has been feeding requests back to our Product Managers, uniting functionality from all three Oracle suites, and enabling current functionality enhancements to have a smoother migration.”
“As part of a global team, it is critical for us to ensure that we are communicating international development to our regional customers as and while it is in progress” said Husam Dajani, Vice President, Oracle Middle East and Africa. “Today’s event provided a forum for our customers to discuss their individual requirements and roadmaps with global Vice President of Development, Vittorio Viarengo, ensuring that the voice of the Middle East is firmly taken into account in this crucial development stage of Oracle’s evolution of its middleware.”
