ALBAWABA - Previously deemed "safe," Israeli troops have carried out airstrikes on the Mawasi neighborhood of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, killing hundreds of Palestinians in the process. There were 17 fatalities in a second massacre that resulted from an attack on the Al-Shati refugee camp.

According to a journalist for Al Jazeera, the Israeli force destroyed camps housing displaced people in western Khan Yunis with five missiles during intense airstrikes that resulted in several fatalities.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 289 Palestinians have been wounded and 71 have been confirmed killed.

According to the Government Media Office in Gaza, eight team members were injured and Mohammed Hamad, the deputy director of fire and rescue, died as one of the victims among the civil defense teams.

Rescue crews are still working at the bombardment site to retrieve remains and tend to the wounded. The office emphasized the horror of the slaughter and the hospital's inability to accommodate the large number of casualties.

Al Jazeera was told by a Nasser Hospital representative that more than twenty dead and several injuries had been brought in. The inflow of patients is pushing the hospital to its breaking point, and it will soon have to proclaim itself closed.

After designating the targeted region as "safe," the Israeli army instructed displaced persons to move there.

According to a Hamas source reported by Reuters, the strike on Khan Yunis was a major escalation that suggests Israel is not interested in a ceasefire deal. The official also said that the individuals killed in the incident were civilians.

According to Al Jazeera's reporter, an Israeli bombardment on the Al-Shati refugee camp in western Gaza City resulted in the deaths of seventeen Palestinians and the injuries of dozens more, citing medical sources.

The reporter said that two children are among the five people who have died as a result of Israel's assault on the Al-Rai family's Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, house yesterday night.

An Israeli attack on a home on Street 20 in the Al-Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip resulted in over ten injuries. Al-Awda Hospital received some of the wounded patients, while Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah received others.
