Over 50 killed and wounded in Mosul blasts

Two suicide bombers blew up in a cafe in a town near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Thursday, killing at leas 21 people, a health official said, according to Reuters. The attack took place in Sinjar, 390 km northwest of Baghdad, whose inhabitants are members of a sect called Yazidis.

 

The bombers detonated their explosives Thursday inside the Ayoub cafe as it was packed with people. Over 30 people were wounded. According to the AP, a curfew was imposed on the town.

 

Earlier this week, two truck bombs destroyed some 40 homes in the village of Khazna near Mosul, killing 30 people.
