Egyptian Minister of Manpower and Immigration Ahmed Al Amawi has announced that his ministry has agreed to a deal with Saudi Arabian companies under which 8,166 drivers and technicians will work in Mecca during the upcoming Hajj season, according to the daily Al Ahram.
The workers have been recruited for a period of three months, and each will receive SR1,000 per month under the agreement with the Saudi pilgrimage services companies.
The director general of the ministry’s foreign employment department, Nawal Al Naggar, said the ministry was keen on providing job opportunities in Arab markets for skilled laborers.
He said this could be done through developing labor offices and encouraging local employment agencies to search out jobs for Egyptians abroad – Albawaba.com
