A painting of the Israeli flag on the floor of the entryway of the Professional Associations Complex was "removed" by unknown persons, Jordan Times reported Tuesday, quoting union members.

The complex's secretary general, Mahmoud Abu Ghanimeh, was quoted by the daily as saying that his colleagues "discovered that virtually the whole flag has been wiped out by the use of paint thinner".

He added, "The intruders must have infiltrated the complex at dawn on Sunday," he told the Jordan Times. "They wiped out most of the flag leaving only a few centimeters on the sidelines."

Ghanimeh said the associations had no plans to paint the. 1.25 x 1 meter flag on the floor again.

The Professional Associations in Jordan are spearheading anti-Israeli campaigns, and have staged or taken part in almost every rally or sit-in in protest of the Israeli practices in the West Bank and Gaza. They also undertake a crusade against normalization with the Jewish state -- Albawaba.com
