A dozen Daesh (ISIS) militants, including Pakistanis, have been killed during operations in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Monday.
Attullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News nine ISIS fighters were killed during an air raid by foreign forces in the Mamand Dara area of Achin district on Sunday night.
He said several weapons and ammunition belonging to Daesh were also destroyed in the overnight attack.
Separately, three Pakistani militants were killed by the Afghan Special Forces in the Chahardara area of Batikot district. The militants were involved in terrorist activities in the area, Khogyani alleged.
He said security forces and civilians suffered no casualties during the offensive. Daesh is yet to comment on the fresh operations.
