A Palestinian child was killed Thursday near the West Bank village of Husan in a hit-and-run incident that residents said was a deliberate act by a Jewish settler.
Shadi Ahmed Hassan Zoul, 14, died after he was hit by a car while waiting on the side of the road to go to school, family members told AFP.
Local residents in the village near Bethlehem, which has seen almost daily clashes with Israeli soldiers posted nearby, took to the streets calling for "vengeance for the martyred child."
Clashes broke out with soldiers after the incident.
Israeli public radio said police considered it an "accident" which occurred near the Beitar Elite Jewish settlement -- BETHLEHEM, West Bank (AFP)
