Palestinian resistance movements denied in a press release published on Monday that they had decided to suspend their attacks in Israel until the end of the holy month of Ramadan, reports said.

The arm wings of Fatah movement, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and the Return Brigades, denied in two separate statements written with identical words which were also signed by the two armed wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad that they declared such thing.

They said in the statements that their “leadership will not announce any alleged truce with the criminal and murderous Zionist enemies,” underlining that the “resistance and armed struggle will continue on all fronts.”

AFP said that Sunday's Communiqué had said, “We are giving our enemy the chance to stop his assassinations, his destruction, his bombings, and we will equally stop our suicide bombings and armed operations in Israel starting midnight December 10 until the end of Ramadan,”

The armed wings continued in their joint statement saying that they “will not give our enemy the chance to destroy Palestinian unity.”

But, they said, their operations will continue in the Gaza Strip and West Bank if the Israeli tanks continue to invade our land and their helicopters do not stop bombing our people.

“We have the right to defend ourselves, to defend the lives of our people and no one can prevent us from doing this, not even the Americans,” the statement said as was cited by AFP.

The denial was followed by an Israeli rejection of the truce, which believed to be offered by the four Palestinian groups.

Israel rejected the truce because it believes that “it is not serious,” said a senior Israeli official.

The Israeli source ruled out any halt to Israel's air and tank operations against Palestinian targets, even temporary, arguing that they were “purely self-defense.” – Albawaba.com
