Israeli soldiers shot dead Thursday morning a Palestinian that attacked and opened fire at a military post near the Netzarim settlement, in the Gaza Strip. Another Palestinian was seriously wounded in the incident.

In the Jenin area, Israeli occupation forces arrested twenty Palestinians, in a wide-scale arrest operation in. Fifteen Palestinians were arrested in the town of Qabatiya.

Meanwhile, Palestinian sources said Israeli occupation forces have recently started a heavy abduction campaign among the wives of the Palestinian resistance fighters and the women affiliated to Islamic groups in Palestinian universities.

The latest of these abductions was that of the wife of Sheikh Jamal Abul-Hayja, a hamas leader in Jenin who is in Israeli detention, despite the fact that she has a brain tumor and in need of regular medical attention, the sources said.

The aim of the abduction is to dampen the determination of the fighters or to get information from the women about the places where Palestinian activists might be hiding. (Albawaba.com)
