A Palestinian was killed on Thursday morning in an Israeli settlement in the southern occupied West Bank after reportedly carrying out an attack against settlers, wounding two Israelis.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that a “terrorist infiltrated” the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba on the outskirts of the city of Hebron, where he attacked settlers.

The were conflicting reports in the wake of the killing as to whether the Palestinian had been allegedly carrying out the attack with a knife, a firearm, or both.

The spokesperson said that the Palestinian was then shot and killed, and that "two civilians" had been wounded and evacuated to the hospital. She added that the Israeli army was looking into the case.

Israeli emergency medical service Magen David Adom reported that they treated a 15-year-old Israeli in critical condition and a 30-year-old Israeli in severe condition on the scene.
