The funeral of a Palestinian infant killed in an Israeli arson attack took place in the Nablus village of Duma after prayers on Friday.

Several thousand people took to the streets in the Palestinian village for the funeral of the toddler, whose body was wrapped in a Palestinian flag.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli settlers smashed the windows of two homes in Duma before throwing flammable liquids and Molotov cocktails inside.

Ali Saad Dawabsha, one-and-a-half years old, was trapped inside the family's home as the fire spread and died shortly after sustaining serious burns, locals said.

His parents and four-year-old brother were left with severe burns.

The mother was in critical condition with third-degree burns covering 90 percent of her body, an Israeli doctor told public radio. The father had burns on 80 percent of his body and the son 60 percent, with all of their lives in danger.

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah vowed on Friday to support the victims after taking part in the infant's funeral.

"We will rebuild this home and any mosque or house that Israel and its settlers destroy, and we will provide treatment for the martyr’s family,” the PM said.

Hamdallah described the attack as "dreadful and unforgivable" and pledged the support of all Palestinian communities for the victims.

Hundreds of Palestinians across the West Bank clashed with Israeli forces after Friday prayers when protests broke out against the arson attack.

Israeli troops shot and wounded one protester in the "lower extremities" during clashes in the city of Hebron, the army said.

President Mahmoud Abbas called for an investigation by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, while senior PA official Riyad al-Maliki rejected Israeli condemnations of the attack as hollow.

"We refuse to accept any official Israeli condemnation of the terrorist crime; they hold direct responsibility for the crime by their ongoing silence and deliberate ignoring and rejection of labeling these groups as terrorists," al-Maliki said.
