During the next five years, the Palestinians intend to undertake industrial projects for the local private sector and the industrial estates as well as vocational training programs for employees of the Palestinian Manufacturing Standards and Specification Authority.
Al-Hayat daily reports that the initiatives are part of the Palestinian Ministry of Industry's recently completed 5-year industrial development plan.
The Minister of Industry, Mr. Saadi Al-Kurnz, said the total value of the new scheme is estimated at $228.5 million, of which $100 million is earmarked to support local industrial estates and free zone projects. This is in addition to $28.5 million for private sector's projects.
