Panasonic extends help to earthquake victims in Pakistan

Panasonic, the leading brand by which Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. is known, has come forward to help the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck Pakistan and northern India earlier this month. The company has decided to contribute AED 1 million towards the relief efforts of the quake-affected victims, with contributions from its employees worldwide making up half the amount.

Meanwhile, Panasonic Marketing Middle East based in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, has already dispatched torches and batteries worth around AED 90,000 to Pakistan. In addition, its UAE employees have also offered to donate a day’s salary to help the victims of one of South Asia’s most destructive earthquakes.

“Panasonic and its employees deeply sympathize with the suffering that the people of Pakistan are experiencing at this moment,” said Seiji Koyanagi, Managing Director, Panasonic Marketing Middle East. “Pakistan is a very important market for Panasonic and we have been marketing our products there for many years now. As a responsible corporate citizen, it is our duty to extend all the possible assistance to help the relief efforts.”
